See You At The Zoo!: AfterParty Edition (Preview)
While we’re just chomping at the bit waiting for Electric Zoo, the first information on the official after-parties we’re released late last week. In what is a 3-night takeover, Made Event will be hosting parties at the Best Buy Theater in Times Square and the Roseland Ballroom just up the way from there, and looking at the various lineups, I can tell you that we are almost as excited for those as we are the actual Zoo. These parties are going to be long yet jam packed; 11pm to 4am on August 31, September 1 & September 2, 2012.
Friday, August 31st
Best Buy Theater
Taking over the best buy theater will be Canadian hip-hop influenced bass bangers Zeds Dead and SMOG chief 12th Planet, as well as Mt. Eden and Hospital Records drum & bass stalwart Netsky. Although more are yet to be announced, this is already a stellar lineup for one night. I know that this is the show I’ll be choosing since I’ll be missing most of these guy’s sets earlier in the day at the Zoo. Monstrous growls, melodic bass tunes, and and a crisp sound-system will make this quite the show. It’s rare that you get such a lineup like this, so if you’re around and you dig all things bass, this show is going to definitely get you your fix.

Roseland Ballroom
I expect that the Roseland crowd will disparately different because they will be going “Full On Ferry” and Ferry will be bringing along Gabriel & Dresden, Michael Woods, and new Anjunabeats artist, Audien (check out his newest release!) Rather than straight up sonic assault, this lineup will provide a classic dance music lineup as the acts will be be playing a range of trance and progressive house, and perhaps that’s more to your liking. Regardless of whatever your taste is, either location you’ll have quite a time.

Saturday, September 1st
Best Buy Theater
After the heavy bass wrecks havoc on Friday night, the Best Buy will be hosting the Markus Schulz Scream Album along with KhoMha and it couldn’t come at a better time. This is the official stop for the tour and so it will be important for the #trancefamilynyc to get to see this one. Schulz was in NYC a couple weeks ago for ColdHarbour night at District 36 but this show should outshine that one as the Best Buy Theater soundsystem is truly top notch.

Roseland Ballroom
Perhaps you’ll be at the mainstage to catch Axwell’s set at headline time, and if you are you’ll need to come to the Roseland to catch the Italian legend Benny Benassi. Benassi is going to tear the house down as he always does and like the other events that weekend, the other acts (Bingo Players, Adrian Lux, & PeaceTreaty) will truly make this the show a rager. A rip your face off romp, Benassi brings it so make sure to catch him then.

Sunday, September 2nd
Best Buy Theater
And Sunday is going to be a tough decision too. At the Best Buy Theater Eygptian trance stars Aly & Fila will be sharing the decks with John O’Callaghan, along with Anjunabeats Australian progressive house master, Jaytech. The night rounds out a string of trance-centered after-parties and it will provide for a fitting finish. Deep grooves, eclectic sounds, this one will be a tough choice. It’s rare you have the oppotunity to see acts such as Aly & Fila AND John O’Callaghan share the decks. If you know this one is the one for you, grab your tickets now.
Roseland Ballroom
Over at Roseland, Dutch star Hardwell will be bringing his supreme DJ skills to rock the party along with German wunderkin Zedd and Bart B More and Treasure fingers. What a way to round out an all-around crazy weekend. The madness should cap off nicely with the progressive big room electro bangers that Hardwell and Zedd like to churn out such has “Spaceman” and “Spectrum” This one will definitely sell out (well, all of these shows will) so you will need to buy a ticket now. Get on that!
