Nas Used Ghostwriters For ‘Untitled’?
There’s been a lot of discussion going on over the past 12 hours or so about the legitimacy of Nas‘ raps on the Untitled album. You know, the one that was supposed to be called N****er. Yeah, so, here’s how the whole thing started:
I think Jay writes what he believes. Nas’ “Nigger” album was largely written by Stic of dead prez and Jay Electronica

For those that don’t know, Dream Hampton is a close friend of Jay-Z’s and helped him pen his lyric book Decoded. Also, she’s not referring to Hov in the above tweet but Jay Electronica, who along with Stic, of Dead Prez, apparently wrote a lot of the more revolutionary minded joints on Untitled.
Upon seeing those tweets, FWMJ at Rappers I Know sounded off about how he’s known about this for years. As some of you might know, he was the one that kinda-sorta broke Jay Electronica to the world as the two had apparently been close for a while. Thus, through their friendship, FWMJ learned of the whole ghostwriting thing, had his heart broken by it, and just yesterday opened up about it. You can read his essay about it at RIK.
As last night went on, Dream and FWMJ had a brief convo on Twitter about the matter:
@fwmj you only got a phone call. I heard reference tapes for like, 6 songs. I shed thug tears too. He’s a Virgo, and one of my faves.— dream hampton (@dreamhampton) August 14, 2012
And then Dream made the following point:
I love Nas. He’s one of my generation’s best writers. Maybe he was blocked. Whatever. Untitled’s aight. Revolutionary But Gangsta was better

Now, I just want to know: what do y’all think about this? Do you think it’s true? Do you even care? Is it weird that this comes out now when Nas just revealed that Jay Elec was set to produce the entirety of Untitled? Let us know.
