This is so goddamn rad. The folks at Frank151 have put together a video that tells the story behind (MF) DOOM’s signature mask. They caught up with Brooklyn-bred, multi-talented artist Blake Lethem, who is actually the dude who designed and fashioned the famous headpiece. As some of you already know, a large portion of it is indebted to the mask seen in the movie Gladiator, though Lethem and one of his friends fine-tuned it, adding a few details, and made it comfortable for DOOM. Additionally, you learn about the first mask DOOM ever wore and several other tidbits from the villain’s life/career.
