Skrillex Gig Cancelled Due to Threat of Chaos

City officials from St Albert, Canada, cancelled a Skrillex gig (June 24) following concerns that the city wouldn’t be able to handle his fans.

Skrillex was due to headline the Full Flex Express Tour when it visits the city next month. However, officials put a stop to things when they realised there would only be eight police and ambulance staff to deal with the expected 10,000 fans.

Councillor Cathy Heron said: “The city of St. Albert’s just not prepared to deal with the kind of projected numbers”.

“The potential for disaster was just too big,” she added.

She also said that organisers hadn’t given them enough time to draft in reinforcements to control the predicted mayhem.

It also emerged that the festival’s organisers started to sell tickets for the date before the city issued them a permit. Despite the cancellation tickets are still on sale.

Other acts that were set to appear include Pretty Lights, Koan Sound and Diplo.

The organisers, The Union Ltd, are yet to comment.
